Iran NOA; Tehran: The second day of the Senior Leadership Course in Women's Sports was held on January 5th, in cooperation with the Deputy Minister of Women of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the National Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Academy.
Introducing
various forms of management and important indicators, Dr. Seyed Reza Salehi
Amiri, the NOC President highlighted: “management has a 200-year history. A
leader must be able to articulate the differences between leadership and
management”.
Dr. Salehi Amiri pointed out the duty-oriented managers,
law-abiding managers, commanding managers, contingency managers, participatory
or cooperative managers, and transformational managers from different dimensions
of management and gave examples in this regard.
Dr. Marjan Saffari, Head of the Sports Management Center of the
National Olympic Academy, stated: “during the second day of the Course, after
the valuable cooperation and synergy that took place between the National
Olympic Academy, the Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth and the National
Olympic Committee, we are witnessing an excellent course with the presence of
53 women selected from 29 sports federations at the National Olympic Academy”.
Regarding the philosophy of the course, she added: “in 2018, the
International Olympic Committee issued guidelines for the development of
women's sports based on equal opportunities in various fields In order to
implement this guideline, which included five separate sections, 25 specific
recommendations, more than 80 practical actions, and a strong emphasis on
increasing skills related to women's leadership, the necessary studies were
conducted by the Sports Management Center of the National Olympic Academy”.
The Head of the NOA Sports Management Center held: “to this end
and in the first step, the initial plan for holding a senior leadership course
in women's sports and the topics have been offered to the participants which
were prepared by the National Olympic Academy and submitted to the Women's
Deputy of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the National Olympic Committee.
Regarding the topics, the course topics are designed based on the approaches of
the International Olympic Committee”.
Dr. Farhadizad;
the Women’s Deputy Minister held: “This issue led us to prepare the conditions
for the presence of these people in the senior leadership course in women's
sports, and following the discussions they can increase their awareness and
knowledge in the future with appropriate decisions”.
